Position Description

The Controlling Division is part of the Finance Department and supports the organization in reaching their targets. We are actively involved in setting up budgets, long term targets and reforecasting with all involved parties. We are reporting on the current performance against these plans and indicate the impact on the future performance. The company is structured in a matrix organization which we mirrored in the controlling team. Our teams are structured around our customers: the markets, the retail and ecommerce team, the divisions and the departments. The controlling team is using a wide range of tools to support these analysis, forecasts and strategic activities.

The general PVH Controlling objectives can be explained as follows:

  • Support the organization to achieve its business targets
  • Controlling team mirrors the organizational setup. Stakeholder focus: departments, divisions and markets
  • Controlling is responsible for understanding the past, current and future numbers
  • Responsibility and ownership of reported numbers to make the closure and reporting a smooth process

Specifically, the Departmental controlling team is responsible for:

  • Controlling & reporting of the operating expenses of all central Amsterdam HQ departments against set targets to Management
  • Supervising the annual budgeting process and monthly Re-estimates
  • Lead in payroll planning & forecasting for all central functions across the organization
  • Working towards achieving transparency and streamlining systems and processes.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will be working for an international and fast growing organization where he/she will be supporting the Sr. Manager in the following activities:

  • Supporting role within the monthly headcount and payroll planning process for Amsterdam HQ region
  • Create and report headcount/payroll dashboard summaries for Management
  • Support function in system improvement/implementation and testing of forecasting tools, specifically focused on headcount and payroll reporting
  • Drive transparency on cost drivers of assigned departments by supervising budget process and forecast, reporting actual costs, explaining cost deviations, and identifying savings potential as part of cost saving initiatives
  • Monthly closing responsibilities in close cooperation with Finance (accruals, prepaid, allocations)
  • General optimization of processes: new headcount approval process, invoice approvals/PO system, T&E reports

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills in communication with department heads and management; experiences in leading review meetings a plus.
  • Expert listener and requirements gatherer.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters is required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing processes and deadlines
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks while looking for ways to improve current processes

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration / Finance / Controlling
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in related field
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and MS Power Point
  • Experience with SAP BW, BPC NetWeaver platform and HANA is a plus
  • Knowledge of fast moving consumer goods, fashion industry and/or retail is an advantage
