Position Description

The Junior Designer will report into the Design Director of denim, working in the Tommy Jeans Division. The Junior Designer will be responsible for supporting the denim design team on creating the seasonal collections, getting an insight on the product group, denims. Further responsibilities will include supporting on trend research, concept, sketching, creating garment techpacks and putting all information in the PLM system. The Junior Designer will work closely with the product development, wash and merchandising teams. The Junior Designer will support the denim design team on planning and developing the collection. Among other duties the Junior Designer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Denim Design team
  • Being passionate for denim
  • Researching trends and markets to create a balance between brand, category and fashion while incorporating the Tommy DNA
  • Working with the PLM system, uploading sketches and technical information, supporting the designers on PLM
  • Creating technical sketches and garment techpacks
  • Working to the divisional calendar to meet all deadlines
  • Working closely with Merchandising and Product Development teams
  • Supporting on preparing presentations

Position Requirements

  • Degree in Fashion Design
  • Preference for working with denim products
  • Fluent in English
  • 1 to 2 years of work experience (could be as an intern)
  • Team player with hands on mentality
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Open minded and flexible mind set
  • Good knowledge and skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • High level of responsibility and proactivity
  • Good planning and organization skills
  • Strong communication skills
