TOMMY HILFIGER CELEBRATES THE BRAND'S 10TH ANNIVERSARY IN INDIA

The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], is pleased to announce that iconic American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger has visited New Delhi and Mumbai, India, to celebrate the Tommy Hilfiger brands’ milestone 10-year anniversary and decade of success in India.

On September 27, Mr. Hilfiger hosted an official anniversary event at the renowned Leela Palace in New Delhi. Guests were treated to a private performance by Grammy Award-winning artist Estelle – including her international chart-topping hits “American Boy” and “Do My Thing” – which was her first ever performance in India. Over 400 guests and VIPs joined the celebrations, held in an elegant ballroom at The Leela Palace that was transformed to reflect the classic, American, cool spirit of the Tommy Hilfiger brand.

On September 28, Mr. Hilfiger attended GQ India’s “Men of the Year” awards in Mumbai, where he was honored with the Icon Award in recognition of the contributions he has made to the global fashion industry over his 40-year career.

“To be recognized with this award by GQ and the country’s fashion industry on the eve of our 10th anniversary in India is a wonderful honor,” said Tommy Hilfiger in his acceptance speech. “I have always loved visiting India, and have long been inspired by the country’s rich culture and eclectic design traditions. I look forward to continuing to share our preppy, all-American styles with consumers throughout India.”

While in India, Mr. Hilfiger hosted an exclusive press event with acclaimed Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor at the Tommy Hilfiger Select Citywalk store in New Delhi. At the event, he launched two limited-edition designs to commemorate his brand’s 10 year anniversary: a shawl for women and traditional bandi for men. Mr. Hilfiger also delivered an inspiring speech to students from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in New Delhi. He spoke with the school’s aspiring fashion designers about his experiences in growing his namesake brand into a global lifestyle business.
